Alan Huerta (he/him), from Mexico City, Mexico, began dancing at age of 13 at Ema Pulido Dance Studio. At 15, he moved to Cordoba Veracruz to pursue a professional career at Fomento Artistico Cordobes (PROVER). Alan competed at the YAGP Semi-Finals México and Finals in New York City in 2017, where he received a scholarship to Orlando Ballet School’s Summer Intensive. Alan also had the opportunity to perform at Lincoln Center at the “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” Gala, and has been awarded a scholarship to the Ballet and Contemporary Program at Jacob’s Pillow where he performed for the Inside/Out performance series. Alan has danced with Orlando Ballet’s Second Company and Charlotte Ballet’s Second Company. Highlights from his professional career include performing in Robert Hill’s Bolero, Arcadian Broad’s Wonderland, Robert Hill’s Requiem, Victoria Morgan’s Cinderella, and Hope Muir and Christopher Stuart’s Fairy-Tailored Nutcracker. Alan also enjoys dance photography and has worked to photograph dancers in rehearsals and performance throughout his career. This is his first season with Ballet Co.Laboratory.
