ABOUT THE TRAINEE PROGRAM

Advanced Level students ages 15-22 have the opportunity to study alongside the Company as Trainees of Ballet Co.Laboratory. Trainees are advanced students who also study four times a week during the day with the Company in class and rehearsal. Trainees are fully enrolled in the Performing Arts Division at Ballet Co.Laboratory. Trainees participate in all season productions and outreach performances.

Auditions for Ballet Co.Laboratory’s Trainee Program occur annually. Dancers may select to audition in-person or via video audition. Please see more details below.

When I was younger and would only perform in a recital or Nutcracker, every show felt like a big deal, but also a lot of pressure. Since I have been dancing in multiple professional shows a year, my dancing has improved drastically. Every time I perform, I feel less stage fright and a little more prepared for the stage than last time.

Being a trainee with BCL is an amazing experience. Working with the company artists almost everyday not only helps us improve our technique, but also helps us explore our artistry. I feel that I have been able to open up more and more as an artist with the help of the BCL community.
