Beginning Ballet - Level II
Students who are new to Ballet Co.Laboratory must fill out an Interest Form below and may be asked to take a placement class prior to enrolling in the Performing Arts Upper School. Current Students who have been placed by BCL Teaching Staff should fill out the Registration Form affiliated with their Level below to begin the registration process.
Beginning Ballet ⎪ Ages 6-7
In this class, dancers begin exploring the fundamentals of ballet technique. Dancers will learn the basic stance and placement for ballet technique and start to translate this into exercises at the barre, in the center, and across the floor. This class will also focus on the connection of music and movement. 1 hours per week with an optional .5 hours on select weeks of Repertoire.

Gender neutral option - any form-fitting athletic clothing in level colors that allows faculty to see lines of the body and muscle work, paired with ballet slippers in a color that make a continuous line of the leg

Level I ⎪ Ages 7-9
In Level I, students solidify ballet class etiquette, build muscles to support correct posture and alignment, and broaden their understanding and execution of ballet technique. This class also begins to study modern dance to support versatility within their dance training. 1.5 hours per week with an optional .5 hours on select weeks of Repertoire.

Level II ⎪ Ages 9-11
Level II students continue to expand their ballet class etiquette, stance and strength in technique training. Dancers will learn longer combinations with more complicated steps to increase memory capability and coordination. Dancers will begin PBT conditioning training while continuing to study different dance genres such as also character and modern. 4.25 hours per week with an optional .5 hours on select weeks of Repertoire.

UNIFORM
Clean and properly fitting level attire ensures success in the ballet class so your Teaching Artist can give you feedback and help you continue learning! Long hair must be neatly secured back from the face in a bun, french twist or any variation thereof - claw clips are not secure enough for the physical demands of a ballet class. Shorter hair must be pulled away neatly from the face, secured with pins, a headband, or strong hair products. No large jewelry or wrist watches are allowed, though small stud earrings are acceptable.

TuITION, REGISTRATION & FEES
The School of Ballet Co.Laboratory Office will complete all registration for the Performing Arts Division. The “Interest Form” button below will open an email to our School Manager Anna Betz, who will help new students find the right Level for them. The “Registration Form” button will allow current students who have already been placed in a Level by BCL Staff to start their registration for the 2024/25 season. Registration is not complete until payment is received by the BCL office. You will receive a receipt from MindBody (our student software), when your registration has been completed.
Tuition for the Lower School is paid semesterly either by card or check. If paying by card, the card must be saved of the student’s Mindbody account, Semester II payment will be scheduled via autopay. If paying my check, the check must be received by the BCL Office by the first day of each semester. Semester I begins on September 9, 2024; Semester II begins on January 15, 2025.
We do offer an application process to pay tuition monthly or apply for a scholarship to the School of Ballet Co.Laboratory. All applications must be submitted by August 10, 2025 to be considered for monthly tuition. Click “Apply Here” below.
Sibling discounts are available towards the tuition of the younger sibling. Please inquire with our School Manager.
Registration opens July 1, 2024 and continues with open enrollment all year-long. In addition to the Semester I Tuition, there is a one-time Registration Fee due at the time of registration and a Performance Fee for students opting-in to the performance for that semester. In Semester II, there is only the Semester II Tuition and a Performance Fee for students opting-in to the performance for that semester for students who were already enrolled in Semester I.

A $25 late fee will be added to my account for tuition paid 1-7 days late and a a $50 late fee will be added for tuition paid 7-14 days late. Once paid, tuition is non-refundable; only if injury or sickness occurs will tuition be pro-rated onto my MindBody account to be used at a later date at BCL.
If a dancer decides to cancel the program for any reason, a written notice must be submitted to the School Manager (Anna Betz, abetz@balletcolaboratory.org) 30 days prior to the next tuition payment date (i.e. if your tuition payment is due January 15, and you submit a written cancellation notice on January 1, your tuition will still be processed on January 15. Thank you for your understanding. All tuition payments, once paid, are non-refundable.
Performance opportunities
All Students in the Lower School of the Performing Arts Division have the opportunity to perform in professional, main stage productions with the Company of Ballet Co.Laboratory twice a year. Students in Beginning Ballet, Level 1, and Level 2 may opt-in to these two performances, as repertoire (rehearsal) will take place every other week outside of regular class time. Please see exact rehearsal dates and times HERE on the School Calendar.
All casts for performances will be double cast. This means that Students in the Lower School will each perform in two of the four performances. Cast A always performs in the the Friday evening/Saturday matinee performances; Cast B always performs in the Saturday evening/Sunday matinee performances.
For Students of the Lower School who opt-in to performance, there will be a Performance Fee for each performance that helps defray the cost of costume construction, tailoring, and cleaning. This Performance Fee will be charged at the beginning of the semester with your semesterly tuition. For Students who DO NOT opt-in to perform, no fee will be charged.

As a non-profit, we rely on Parent/Guardian Volunteers to make our productions a success. We ask that for families whose Student has opt-ed in to Performance volunteer a minimum of 2 shifts per semester (per dancing family) during productions and events. Parents/Guardians who are unable to volunteer or choose not to volunteer will pay the semesterly Volunteer Fee after each production. This fee will be automatically charged post-production on Mindbody (December and May). For families whose Student is NOT performing, this shift minimum/Volunteer Fee does not apply.
