Sage Engle-Laird (she/her) began dance classes at a young age in her hometown, Tulsa, OK. In 2010 she joined the Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education, and two years later she moved to New York City to train with Sara Knight at the SLK Ballet School. While in school, Sage attended summer programs at Ballet Austin, Oklahoma City Ballet, English National Ballet, Houston Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in NYC. Following graduation, she has had the opportunity to dance professionally with Ballet Austin, Ballet Tucson, Alabama Ballet, and Ballet Virginia. She has performed in an array of classical and contemporary ballets including The Sleeping Beauty, La Sylphide, Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardée, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Walpurgisnacht, and works by Jennifer Hart, Stephen Mills, Septime Webre, and Nadine Barton. Along with dancing and teaching ballet, Sage is also a certified Pilates instructor and currently working on her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota. This is her fourth season as a Company Artist and manager of the organization’s Outreach team.
